Order Update April 1st 2017

Just a quick note to update you on where we are with the Tomatoes etc as im starting to get a few e-mails now from folks enquiring so i thought the most sensible thing would be to fire off a quick update to everyone rather than spend a whole lot of time im havent got replying to loads of e-mails.

I started sowing a little later then i planned as the weather was so variable one minute fairly mild and the next very cold and even with the extra heating i struggled with maintaining high enough temperatures from next year i will stoip trying to be clever and start later with orders going out from the begining of April instead of saying Mid March and never being able to achieve it !!  As a result i suspect because of the fluctuating temeperatures some of the first batch of sowing either didn't come up at all or only a very few came up unfortunately a large proprtion of my most popular varieties were in that scenario with either very poor germination or not at all as follows
Piccolo only 1 out of 500 seed came up but new batch from new seed is just coming up
Hundreds and Thousands and Sungold initially only a few came up but more cam up later so were reasonably OK with those and some were potted on and i have huge new batches up as well which will be potted this week
Black Opal, Rosada, Lizzano, Sweet Aperatif and Vilma also didn't come up of the really big lots all have either been re-sown or seed has come in today and all will be ready within the next few weeks.

So we will start dispatching next week with what is ready and gradually send these other orders with these ones that failed out as they come ready.

If you have Peppers and Aubergines on your orders they are not quite ready yet and ive also had to spray them today after discovering yesterday they are smothered in greenfly allready

If you have Cucumbers, Courgettes and Basil on your order they will be nearer the end of April i will be sowing all these items later this week any earlier and Cucumbers and Basil doesn't germinate and at £30 a hundred or more for F1 Cucumber seed its too expensive to waste.

Where possible the orders we had held over to this year from our disaster last year are being shipped first

If you have facebook then i will try and keep the Tomato page updated with how things are going if not I will try and also keep the website Blog page updated Please if you have an issue about your order or want to know the situation then e-mail me rather than post on facebook and i will respond as soon as i can
